General Information about Online Education
 
Bridgemont Community and Technical College offers a variety of classes online. Online classes are designed to help you fit your learning to your schedule and your needs. For more information regarding our current online offerings, please search the course schedule. Web courses are identified by a “W” as the section number. Check out the “Characteristics of a Successful Online Student” to read about the study habits and personality traits of the successful online student.
  • In order to take online courses you need to be admitted to Bridgemont CTC. For an application for admission, call 304-734-6604, or apply online.
  • For registration information and open house dates, contact the registrar at 304-734-6600 for more information.
  • Students taking online courses are required to have reliable access to a computer and the Internet as well as a mastery of basic computer skills.
  • If you have any questions about an individual course, contact the instructor for that course. Unless otherwise stated by the instructor for your online course, you will have access to your course beginning the first day of the semester.

How to Login into Your Online Course

  • Click on The Bridge, Log in with your B-number and password. 
  • Choose the Email and Online Courses Tab.
  • Choose the Blackboard - eCampus link. This will take you to WVNET, who hosts BCTC’s web courses.
  • Click into your online course. Remember, if you are testing, the test proctor will enter the validation code/password for all students.

Technical Support/Contacting WVNET Help Desk

To succeed in an online course it is important that you ask for help. Waiting can cause you to fail or fall behind in your course. Call and get help with your questions!  For areas of support relating to accessing your course, the main point of contact is the WVNET Help Desk which is available to assist you 24 hours a day/7 days a week. You can call 304.293.5192 or access the WVNET Help Desk online. You may also want to check the Student Help Pages to see if your question can be answered there.

  • browser configuration,
  • plug in issues or,
  • password problems.
The WVNET Help Desk will not be able to answer questions about the course work.  You should send these questions to your instructor.
