The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 was designed to protect the privacy of a student’s education records.
 
Only with the student’s consent* may Bridgemont Community and Technical College disclose information from a student’s educational records to a parent, spouse, or other designated person or institution. The student must complete a FERPA Waiver Form which lists the individual(s) or intuition to which his/her educational information may be released. Click here to download the form.  The form must be signed by the student and returned to the Registrar’s Office, 217 Davis Hall, 619 2nd Avenue, Montgomery, WV  25136.

*Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, Bridgemont Community and Technical College is permitted to disclose information from a student’s education records to his/her parents if one or both claim him/her as a dependent for federal tax purposes.
