Bridgemont Community and Technical College is committed to promoting sustainability on campus, in the classroom, and in the community. Sustainability just means integrating environmental, economic and social goals to increase quality of life - now and for future generations.

Institutes of higher education have a unique responsibility to promote sustainability through education and modeling best practices. In addition, because of their responsiveness to community and industry needs, community and technical colleges are in a unique position to foster sustainable workforce and economic development for West Virginia. Bridgemont is committed to providing this sustainability leadership and supporting other schools, organizations, and businesses on their sustainability journey.

Bridgemont measures success according to a Triple Bottom Line:

  • People – Social Equality
  • Profits – Economic Viability
  • Planet – Environmental Stewardship

Sustainable Practice is one of five institutional goals, with annual strategies outlined to address short-, medium, and long-term economic, health, social, and environmental benefits for employees, students, and the greater community. Click here to view Bridgemont’s sustainability policy.
