Certification and Advancement

Technicians are required to attain Technical Development Hours (TDH’s) and progressive technical experience in order to advance to a higher certification level.  The requirement showing the number of TDH’s necessary for advancement can be found in Section III of the Rules and Regulations. The requirement showing the guidelines for advancement TDH's is in Section IV. Use the Rules and Regulations link on the bottom of this page to access that information.

Please be advised that a certification fee of $100 is required to process your certification application.  Some employers, such as the WV DOH, will pay this fee for their employees.
